Tancat	A section of l'Albufera lake that is separated from the rest by a "mota", or dike, which was raised up with muddy soil to be used for growing rice. This system was used to separate a section of land from the rest of the lake in order to control and regulate the water levels within the "motas" or boundary dikes.
Ullals (Springs)	Underwater freshwater springs located in the marsh and at the bottom of l'Albufera lake. They currently constitute an enclave for the flora and fauna that existed in l'Albufera.
Zooplankton	Plankton made up of animal organisms such as crustaceans.
